Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at BMCC is largely skewed towards women students, with 59.0% of undergraduate students being women and 41.0% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 19,336, with 11,401 women and 7,935 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is Hispanic, comprising 42.8% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 8,243 students.

Following closely behind are African American students, constituting 24.9% of the student body, with 4,804 students. Asian students represent 12.7% of the population, with 2,442 students, while White students account for 10.6%, with 2,045 students. Mixed race students account for 2.7% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 517 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.2% , with 41 students.

International students make up 6.1% of the undergraduate population, totaling 1,175 students.
