Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at Hostos is greatly skewed towards women students, with 69.8% of undergraduate students being women and 30.2% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 5,441, with 3,796 women and 1,645 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is Hispanic, comprising 59.2% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 3,216 students.

Following behind are African American students, constituting 27.9% of the student body, with 1,515 students. White students represent 4.7% of the population, with 258 students, while Asian students account for 3.1%, with 170 students.
