Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at MCTC is largely skewed towards women students, with 60.0% of undergraduate students being women and 40.0% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 5,973, with 3,582 women and 2,391 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 38.2% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 2,251 students.

Following closely behind are African American students, constituting 32.0% of the student body, with 1,885 students. Hispanic students represent 13.0% of the population, with 764 students, while Mixed race students account for 6.6%, with 389 students. Asian students account for 5.6% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 333 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.1% , with 4 students.

International students make up 1.7% of the undergraduate population, totaling 102 students.
