Mountain Empire Community College

Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at MECC is largely skewed towards women students, with 62.7% of undergraduate students being women and 37.3% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 2,079, with 1,303 women and 776 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 92.9% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 1,930 students.

Following behind are Mixed race students, constituting 1.7% of the student body, with 35 students. African American students represent 1.5% of the population, with 31 students, while Hispanic students account for 1.2%, with 24 students. Hawaiian students account for 0.7% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 15 students. Finally, Asian students have the smallest representation at 0.6% , with 13 students.

International students make up 0.1% of the undergraduate population, totaling 2 students.

There is also a notable percentage of students with an unknown race, making up 1.3% of the population, totaling 28 students.
