On the other hand, the graduate student population at NU is greatly skewed towards women students, with 71.3% of undergraduate students being women and 28.7% being men. The total number of full-time, graduate students is 9,487, with 6,767 women and 2,720 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 32.4% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 2,464 students.
Following closely behind are Hispanic students, constituting 30.7% of the student body, with 2,331 students. African American students represent 10.2% of the population, with 773 students, while Asian students account for 8.0%, with 608 students. Mixed race students account for 6.1% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 466 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 1.2% , with 90 students.
