Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at NECC is greatly skewed towards women students, with 65.6% of undergraduate students being women and 34.4% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 4,770, with 3,127 women and 1,643 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 44.3% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 2,111 students.

Following closely behind are Hispanic students, constituting 43.8% of the student body, with 2,084 students. African American students represent 4.3% of the population, with 206 students, while Asian students account for 2.1%, with 100 students. Mixed race students account for 2.0% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 95 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.3% , with 16 students.

International students make up 0.9% of the undergraduate population, totaling 45 students.

There is also a notable percentage of students with an unknown race, making up 2.2% of the population, totaling 106 students.
