Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at NVCC is slightly skewed towards women students, with 53.3% of undergraduate students being women and 46.7% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 49,560, with 26,397 women and 23,163 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 34.4% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 17,002 students.

Following closely behind are Hispanic students, constituting 22.4% of the student body, with 11,058 students. Asian students represent 16.7% of the population, with 8,266 students, while African American students account for 14.4%, with 7,133 students. Mixed race students account for 5.0% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 2,477 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.3% , with 125 students.

International students make up 2.5% of the undergraduate population, totaling 1,226 students.

There is also a notable percentage of students with an unknown race, making up 4.3% of the population, totaling 2,141 students.
