Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at STCC is largely skewed towards women students, with 64.4% of undergraduate students being women and 35.6% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 7,168, with 4,619 women and 2,549 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is African American, comprising 61.7% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 4,419 students.

Following behind are White students, constituting 23.9% of the student body, with 1,709 students. Hispanic students represent 8.1% of the population, with 577 students, while Mixed race students account for 2.8%, with 197 students. Asian students account for 2.1% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 150 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.2% , with 13 students.

International students make up 0.6% of the undergraduate population, totaling 43 students.

There is also a notable percentage of students with an unknown race, making up 0.7% of the population, totaling 51 students.
