Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at SAGU is slightly skewed towards women students, with 51.8% of undergraduate students being women and 48.2% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 1,519, with 787 women and 732 men.

On the other hand, the graduate student population at SAGU is slightly skewed towards women students, with 52.8% of undergraduate students being women and 47.2% being men. The total number of full-time, graduate students is 324, with 171 women and 153 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 54.6% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 797 students.

Following behind are Hispanic students, constituting 23.6% of the student body, with 344 students. African American students represent 14.1% of the population, with 205 students, while Mixed race students account for 5.1%, with 74 students. Asian students account for 1.0% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 14 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.5% , with 7 students.

International students make up 0.9% of the undergraduate population, totaling 13 students.

There is also a notable percentage of students with an unknown race, making up 0.3% of the population, totaling 5 students.
