Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at UTPB is largely skewed towards women students, with 59.4% of undergraduate students being women and 40.6% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 4,249, with 2,525 women and 1,724 men.

On the other hand, the graduate student population at UTPB is largely skewed towards women students, with 59.0% of undergraduate students being women and 41.0% being men. The total number of full-time, graduate students is 1,285, with 758 women and 527 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 46.6% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 1,972 students.

Following closely behind are Hispanic students, constituting 34.2% of the student body, with 1,447 students. African American students represent 7.2% of the population, with 306 students, while Asian students account for 2.5%, with 105 students. Mixed race students account for 2.2% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 91 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.2% , with 8 students.

International students make up 2.6% of the undergraduate population, totaling 109 students.

There is also a notable percentage of students with an unknown race, making up 4.5% of the population, totaling 190 students.
