Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at UWF is largely skewed towards women students, with 58.2% of undergraduate students being women and 41.8% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 9,319, with 5,423 women and 3,896 men.

On the other hand, the graduate student population at UWF is greatly skewed towards women students, with 68.3% of undergraduate students being women and 31.7% being men. The total number of full-time, graduate students is 3,969, with 2,709 women and 1,260 men.

The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 63.4% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 5,883 students.

Following behind are Hispanic students, constituting 10.7% of the student body, with 997 students. African American students represent 10.5% of the population, with 976 students, while Mixed race students account for 5.8%, with 542 students. Asian students account for 3.5% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 328 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 0.2% , with 23 students.

International students make up 2.4% of the undergraduate population, totaling 221 students.

There is also a notable percentage of students with an unknown race, making up 3.3% of the population, totaling 309 students.
