Gender Diversity
Based on the 2021-2022 data, the undergraduate student population at UW-Tacoma is slightly skewed towards women students, with 51.2% of undergraduate students being women and 48.8% being men. The total number of full-time, first-year undergraduate students is 4,327, with 2,215 women and 2,112 men.
On the other hand, the graduate student population at UW-Tacoma is largely skewed towards women students, with 61.3% of undergraduate students being women and 38.7% being men. The total number of full-time, graduate students is 700, with 429 women and 271 men.

        The largest ethnic group among the students is White, comprising 36.8% of the undergraduates population , with a total of 1,587 students.
Following closely behind are Asian students, constituting 22.2% of the student body, with 957 students. Hispanic students represent 15.4% of the population, with 664 students, while African American students account for 10.5%, with 454 students. Mixed race students account for 9.2% of the undergraduate student body, comprising 398 students. Finally, Hawaiian students have the smallest representation at 1.5% , with 66 students.
International students make up 2.4% of the undergraduate population, totaling 104 students.
